Similarly, for one liter of diesel, Rs 81.47 will have to be paid. In the financial capital Mumbai, the price of petrol remains at Rs 97.57 / liter today. The price of one liter of diesel here is Rs 88.60. Petrol in Kolkata is 91.35 rupees/liter and diesel 84.35 rupees/liter on Saturday. Talking about Chennai, you will have to spend Rs 93.11 for a liter of petrol and Rs 86.45 on diesel.

Crude oil prices increased on Friday

The international market saw a rise of about 2 percent in the price of crude oil on Friday. However, amid the increasing number of coronavirus epidemics worldwide, it has fallen by 7 percent at the weekly level. Brent crude gained 2 percent to $ 64.53 a barrel after Friday's trade. Whereas, West Texas Intermediate ie WTI crude has jumped 2.4 percent to reach $ 61.42 per barrel.

Will petrol-diesel come under the purview of GST

The central government is showing interest in bringing petroleum products under the ambit of Goods and Services Tax. There have been reports in many media reports that the Center is considering this at the internal level. However, the GST Council will take a final decision to bring petroleum products under the purview of GST. In the same week, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in response to a written question in the Lok Sabha that there is no proposal to bring crude oil, petrol-diesel, aviation turbine fuel, and natural gas under the purview of GST.
