A day before this, while the price of petrol was increased by 35 paise per liter, diesel was also increased by 28 paise. Petrol in Delhi remained stable at Rs 98.81 per liter on Wednesday. Here diesel also remained at Rs 89.18 per liter. Petrol is most expensive in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar, where it is now around Rs 110 per liter. Even the diesel price in the city is high.

    With the prices fluctuating over the past few months, petrol will soon hit Rs 100 per liter or more nationally. Diesel is also fast approaching the century across the country. Diesel prices are also increasing across the country in line with petrol prices, but there was no change in its retail prices on Wednesday.

Previous Prices Of Crude Oils

Diesel is being sold at Rs 89.18, Rs 96.72, Rs 93.72, and Rs 92.03 per liter in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata. Fuel retail prices in India are expected to firm up in the coming days, owing to the rise in global crude oil prices and the declining inventory of the world's largest fuel consumer - the US.

Prices are fixed at 6 in the morning

Petrol-Diesel prices are fixed every day at 6 am. After adding excise duty, dealer commission, and other expenses to their price, they reach close to double. Petrol and diesel prices change daily based on what are the crude prices in the international market along with the foreign exchange rates.

Petrol rates in India are revised on a daily basis. Prices are revised at 06:00 a.m. every day. This makes sure that even a minute’s variation in global oil prices can be transmitted to fuel users and dealers. The price of fuel includes excise duty, value-added tax (VAT), and dealer commission. VAT varies from state to state.
