ICC changed rules now tie matches will be out from super over in women's ODI

Back with another imp news in the informative blog "knowing steps360". Several decisions were taken at the International Cricket Council (ICC) board and committee's virtual meeting conference on Thursday. The ICC Cricket Committee headed by Indian veteran bowler Anil Kumble also changed some rules of women's cricket.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved two major changes in women's cricket. 

In women's ODI cricket, the initial 5-over batting powerplay has been removed. Apart from this, all the tie matches will now be decided by super over. Several decisions were taken at the International Cricket Council (ICC) board and committee's virtual meeting conference on Thursday. The ICC Cricket Committee headed by Indian veteran bowler Anil Kumble also changed some rules of women's cricket.

Apart from this, it has also been decided that Test and ODI status will be given to all full-member women's teams. It has also been agreed that all the matches of the Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham next year will get the status of Women's T20 International. Mel Jones (Cricket Australia) and Catherine Campbell (New Zealand Cricket) have been appointed as full member representatives in the ICC Women's Committee.

The tournament was to be held in Bangladesh later this year but due to Coronavirus, it has been decided to postpone it. The board said that the deadly virus affected the games due to which teams would not be able to properly prepare for a global tournament later this year. Now this tournament will be held in January 2023.

Similarly, the teams will also postpone the global qualifiers for the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup-2022 preparations and will now be held in December-2021. During the India and England series, questions were raised on the umpires' call, and the demand for DRS to reconsider this rule arose but the ICC decided to keep it up after discussing it.
